On the way to Grand Rapids, we stopped for lunch at Arby's. Garytt decided during that lunch that he no longer needed help dipping his chicken or fries into ketchup. Prior to this, I would dip his chicken for him so as to contain the mess. It turns out he is a very careful dipper though.
On Monday Garytt, Great Aunt Betty, and I all went to Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, MI. It was actually a really nice size zoo. Garytt enjoyed it so much that each time we would leave one animal, he would cry because he thought we were done. So, it was a bit of a struggle for me to explain to him that we were just going to see another animal. We didn't get around to the entire zoo before it was time for a nap but he definitely enjoyed it and the weather was amazing!
This sign was posted all over the zoo...I thought it was cute.
The peacocks we saw when we first walked in...they were everywhere in the zoo.
Garytt is getting ready to chase the birds in the background.
Checking out the emu
When we got to the camels, there was a little elevated area to get a better look. Garytt just loved running up and down the ramp.
Currently, when we read books, Garytt's favorite animals are lions and tigers. That is becuase he likes to "roar." So, I was looking forward to seeing these animals in person and see if he would make the "roaring" noise. Unfortunately, it must have been nap time for the animals.
A sleeping tiger isn't very exciting.
The snow leopard isn't much more intimidating.
He did enjoy seeing other animals and just running around in general.
Rhino
Watching the rhino with Aunt B

More wandering
As we were leaving, I tried to get a quick picture of Garytt in front of the zoo sign. Yeah, he was already tired and the sun was too bright...so not a great picture.
