Another Project and First Aggie Game

We took the boys to Lowe's in the morning on Saturday, Sept. 14 for another Build and Grow project. This month they got to build a fire truck.

Did you notice our attire?  Well, so did the people at Lowe's. I guess a family of four dressed in maroon in tiger country is pretty obvious. We watched the game against Alabama while having a picnic in our basement.

Unfortunately, the clock ran out before the Aggies were finished playing. But we had a fun day!

LODO Picnic

Little One's Day Out hosted a back to school picnic on Friday, September 13. The boys loved it because it was at a park! The following pictures are a little like Where's Waldo...can you find my boys in the pictures?

After a while, it was time to have some dinner. So, we all headed to the shelter.

It was a beautiful evening to have a picnic, the boys had a great time, it was nice to chat with some of the other parents, and we discovered a new park to add to our list! Awesome!

Happy Birthday Mary

Sunday, September 8th was the Virgin Mary's birthday (9 months after the Immaculate Conception). I always look for fun ways to include our faith at home. So, I took the opportunity to make cupcakes for Mary!

Saturday before the wedding Garytt helped me bake the cupcakes. And, what a great helper he is!

I had the boys pick out some fun cupcake liners out of my stash. Westyn was a little sad that there wasn't already cake inside it.

So, we let Westyn watch Garytt fill the cupcake liners.

I added the frosting the next morning before church, which I have to admit wasn't my best effort due to time constraints and having to substitute some ingredients.

After lunch we sang Happy Birthday to Mary and enjoyed our cupcakes.

Dylan and Cali's Wedding

Saturday, September 7th my cousin, Dylan, married his long time girlfriend Cali. The boys were excited to got to the wedding because it was a casual outdoor wedding...a perfect opportunity to wear cowboy boots and cowboy hats!

After the boys were dressed, we loaded into the van and headed to the Kansas City area. We did some mingling when we arrived.

Garytt was pretty impressed with his shadow...especially with his cowboy hat.

Westyn did a good job of keeping his hat on most of the time, surprisingly.

Garytt and Gavin explored the dance floor.

Meanwhile, Westyn hung out with Grandpa.

I asked my dad to take a family picture for us...but it was a bit of a lost cause. We couldn't get everyone to look at the same time.

Westyn got a close-up though.

Pretty soon, it was time for the wedding to start. It was pretty sunny and warm where we were sitting. So, Grandpa provided some shade with an umbrella...always prepared!

Dylan and Cali drove up in an old red truck. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were in the bed of the truck. It was a fun entrance.

Cousin Larry performed the ceremony.

Then it was time to eat some fabulous Jack Stack BBQ and party! It didn't take long for the kids to make their way back out to the dance floor.

Westyn wasn't too sure about the dance floor at first. He preferred to play peek-a-boo with a hole in the tent support.

As the night progressed, Westyn became more comfortable with the dance floor. In fact, he started busting out some break dancing moves.

While Westyn was bustin a move on the dance floor, Grandpa took Garytt over to the s'mores station. He had a great time but it made me a little nervous with so many kids with sticks on fire.

Enjoying his final product.

The boys went out to the dance floor for one more dance before it was time to go.

This wedding was unlike any wedding I had ever been to but it seemed perfect for Dylan and Cali. Congrats to you both and best wishes for a wonderful life together!  We had a great time celebrating with you on your special day!
