2015 Christmas in Topeka

On December 18, we headed to Topeka to celebrate Christmas with the Meyer side. The boys started the weekend fun by playing some games, including old school Super Nintendo...those pesky cords sure do get in the way though!

Of course, the real excitement occurred the next morning when it was time to exchange gifts. First, though, we needed to get a group photo of the kids.

Time for presents! Grandma had a package for each of the boys that she wanted them to open at the same time. Boy were these a hit!

More presents...

After presents were opened, there was lots of Lego fun and movie time.

Pretty soon it was time to get dressed and ready for more family to come over. Garytt and Great, Great Aunt Betty apparently had a good conversation.

Then, the boys showed off their dance moves.

Knock! Knock! A surprise visitor came to the door!!

After the initial shock was over, Santa was invited to come sit down. (Notice Westyn eyeing Santa's big bag.)

Then each kid got to chat with Santa for a bit.

Santa had taken the stocking from Grandma's house secretly and filled them with goodies. (He also included some Craisins, which Garytt wasn't all that impressed with but it turned out to be a bit hit with Jacob.)

As it turned out, Santa had one more larger gift for each kid. Up to this point, it was hard to tell if Garytt was believing in this Santa. We previously saw Santa this year and Garytt had asked for a flute. But just in the past week, he had been telling me that he actually wanted a Switch N Go Dino car. So, he was pretty surprised when that is exactly what Santa got out of his bag for both Garytt and Westyn!

Group photo before Santa had to leave...

After all that excitement, we put as many of the kiddos down for nap as we could. Then it was time to have the adult exchange. My mom decided to add a new game to the mix this year..."open the gift with socks on your hand game." This was quite hilarious and fun! I only got a few pictures as I had to get in the game too!

We had a great weekend celebrating Christmas with the fam in Topeka!

2015 School Christmas Programs

Westyn's Lutheran preschool had their Christmas program early in December. First, the youth pastor gave a little talk about Christmas lights and Christ being the light of the world.

Then the kids got up to sing. It was rather difficult to get a good picture, so forgive the poor quality. But Westyn is the shorter of the two boys in plaid shirts in the front.

I also took a few videos of them singing.

After the program, they had some craft activities for the kids.

They especially loved the little photo op they had available.

A few weeks later, Garytt had his Christmas program at Martyrs. Here he is all dressed up and ready to sing.

Again, getting good pictures at the program was difficult.

And here are a few videos of his songs.

It's always fun to see the kids sing the songs they have been practicing. So cute!
