Thanksgiving 2015

We spent Thanksgiving in Topeka but we did a little baking of pies before we left town. I had some pretty eager helpers in the kitchen.

We arrived at my parents house to find a beautifully set table ready to share Thanksgiving with family.

Somehow Grandma, who put together such a nice table, ended up eating in the kitchen with the kiddos.

While everyone was still finishing up, Garytt decided he wanted to entertain little Levi. I'm not really sure who was more entertained by whom.

Grandma put together some special popcorn turkeys for the boys. They were pretty excited about that!

Westyn got nice and comfortable with Grandma while he enjoyed his treat.

When it was time for pie, I jumped in a few pictures with the kids...as you can tell, none of them were too interested in getting their picture taken.

Next up on the fun list was a game of Thanksgiving bingo! Great Aunt Kathy brought the game and even used Rolo candies for the game markers. What an awesome aunt!

We played until all the players got a bingo because Great Aunt Kathy had prizes for everyone!

Levi enjoyed the game even as a spectator....next year buddy, next year!

Before bedtime, the boys got some old school Nintendo time. My parents still have our Super Nintendo system from my childhood. Garytt seems to do pretty well with it...except that tricky cord gets in the way.

Apparently there was also some time for piano practice.

Grandma even had some cookies and hot cocoa before bed.

The next evening we were scheduled to go on a train ride with Santa. However, the weather was pretty bad with icy roads. So, we opted to keep everyone safe and stay in. Grandma had gotten all the boys new PJs, so we decided to try to get a group PJ picture. As you can imagine, that's pretty challenging with this many young kiddos.

Instead of a train ride, we ended up doing movie night.

Swimming Lessons

The boys took their first swimming class together through October and November. It was an adventure having the two of them together in class but the teacher seemed to do pretty well with them.

Garytt Lost His First Tooth

November 10, 2015 was a special day at school. The kids were allowed to dress in Royals gear to celebrate the Royals season. They were pretty excited!

Little did we know the excitement would continue when the boys came home and were eating a snack.  Garytt lost his first tooth! At first we couldn't find it and he was really worried the tooth fairy wouldn't come. Fortunately, we were able to find it! This was one happy boy!

Right before bed, he decorated the envelope to put his tooth in.

The tooth fairy money.

The next morning Garytt found the money. He is really not a morning person, so I don't think he shows the level of excitement that he felt later after he really woke up.

Of course, Westyn had to jump in and "help" Garytt count his money.

And, much to my surprise, Garytt offered two dollars of his tooth fairy money for Westyn to have so they could go to the toy store together. Their brotherly love comes out at such unexpected times and I just love it!
