Back to Reality

After being on maternity leave for 12 weeks, I returned to work on Monday, June 21. It was a difficult transition for me to go from being with Garytt all day, every day to being at work for 8 hours a day. The transition was made a bit easier because my mom was able to watch him all week here at our house. I am always so excited to come home in the evenings and see my little guy!

We've developed a bit of routine here in the Brown household. I get to play with him for about an hour before Justin gets home from work, which is a nice time for Garytt and me to bond. Then Justin gets to play with him while I fix dinner. After dinner, we all hang out together until Garytt goes to bed. After he is in bed, we do some cleaning and prepare for the next day, which includes getting his cloth diapers ready. So far, this schedule seems to be working well.

I have truly enjoyed my weekend though! I love getting to spend all day with Garytt! And we get to take naps on the weekends too! Garytt and I usually get up between 3:30 and 4:30 in the morning. So, I really miss my naps when I am at work!

The next transition will be on July 6 when Garytt goes to daycare. I hope that transition will go smoothly as well.
