October Randomness

Garytt had an early day out of school in October, so I thought I would take the boys to get a special treat at Sonic. When we arrived, this is what I saw...the two boys clearly handle being tired very differently!

The school also had their book fair during October. The boys were pretty excited about their new books!

We replaced our fridge...other appliances will also be replaced in stages. My shiny new fridge came...with a dent in the door! It took delivering three different doors before they finally gave us one without a dent or scratch in it! But, yay for a new fridge!

I got some Westyn snuggles when he was sick for a day or two...it's the only time the boys want to snuggle anymore.

Garytt realized that his robe paired with the Mickey hat my mom made for Westyn's 1st birthday party kind of looks like Wizard Mickey. So, here he is in the yard pretending to make the brooms work. Love it!

For the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, North American Martyrs School held a special rosary in the courtyard after morning mass. Then they let a huge balloon rosary fly. The kids loved it!

I am room mom for Westyn's class and realized I had to figure out an idea for an auction item. I took a vote and the winning idea was a cookie jar with fingerprints of the kids. I had to do some preliminary painting, then bring it in for the fingerprints and then finish it up at the shop. It turned out pretty cute.

Westyn made this hat during preschool. Garytt liked it so much he used it as a pattern to make his own.

I finally discovered where the bakery outlet is here...sometimes it is the little things that just make my day!

Westyn had a costume day at the Lutheran preschool. He didn't have his Iron Man costume yet, so he chose from the costumes we already had. He decided to be the red Power Ranger.

One afternoon the boys decided it would be fun to make witches brew on the grill cover...that didn't go over well with Justin..ha!

Mimi sent a special delivery around Halloween. The boys thought they hit the jackpot!

We didn't manage to rake up our leaves like we should have before the first snow. (Which means our spring clean up is going to be rough). But one afternoon the boys tried to rake up a small pile with sticks and then played in the leaves. I'm pretty sad these are the only leave pictures we got this year...guess there's always next year.

Shira and WD visited Garytt's school for lunch while they were visiting us in October. Garytt and his silly faces...

Halloween Festivities 2015

Westyn decided to be Iron Man and Garytt decided to be Vision this year.

Great Aunt Shira and Great Grandpa WD came for a visit on Halloween weekend. So, we all headed over to the HyVee trick or treat even on Oct 30. It was a little chilly and started to sprinkle, so we kind of hurried through it but it was fun nevertheless.

That was just a warm-up for trick-or-treating the neighborhood the next evening. The boys (and Shira) are ready!

Justin and Shira took the boys around the neighborhood while WD and I took candy duty.

Of course, the best part of the night is coming home and testing out the candy!

The boys had a great Halloween, made even more special by our visitors from Texas. Here are they are one more time!
