Soccer Clinic

While Garytt was playing football in August and September, Westyn was playing soccer for the first time. The YMCA offered a soccer clinic that spanned several weeks and taught the kids some basic skills. Westyn was so excited to finally be old enough to play soccer!

I don't normally get the professional pictures for the clinics but he was just so excited about it, and I'm a sucker for pictures.


Here are some pics and videos of the fun had at soccer. During each day of the clinic, they started with some drills and then they moved into a scrimmage at the end.

The first day of the clinic, it just happened that the other kids on Westyn's scrimmage team didn't really want to play that much.  So, for quite a bit of it, he was playing by himself against 3 other kids. You can tell in the videos of that day, he is getting exhausted and begins to kind of hang out in the goal to try to block them. The subsequent weeks weren't quite that out of balance.


He cannot wait until the spring when he gets to play soccer on a team!
