This first camp was an improv camp. So they did a lot of acting games to help them think on their feet. They did a little showcase at the end of the week.
I took a few videos too. The first video is just introducing the improv group.
The second video is a game where they all had to connect to each other to make a big machine.
This video shows a game where they had to be something found in a zoo (the topic was chosen by an audience member)...but it couldn't be any of the animals. So, some are light posts, cages, water fountains, benches, etc. I think Garytt was a bench or maybe a bridge.
The final activity was called Freeze Frame. When "freeze" was called, they had to switch one actor and start a brand new scene using the last word used from the previous scene. Garytt had a little trouble with this. But, honestly, considering how much younger he is than the other kids, he was brave and did his best!
The second summer camp in June was a superhero theme and ended with an actual show. Apparently, the script was a lot to learn in just one week, so they cut some parts out and allowed the actors to have the scripts on stage.
Westyn practiced his photography skills again prior to the show...including some selfies.
Pretty soon the show started. Garytt had a small part with a few lines. But he did a great job! Again, he was the youngest actor up there and I think he learned a lot and had fun!
