The weather was still very questionable by that time we arrived at the parking garage. It looked like it could start raining at any moment and it was really breezy but we were all excited to go to Mickey's Party despite the weather.
By the time we arrived at the main gates, it looked like the rain was going to move out, which was great news! We collected our trick-or-treat bags and headed inside. We first decided to wait for a picture in front of the big Mickey pumpkin.
Since the party didn't officially start for a few hours, we had time to go ride some rides. Of course, I wanted to head back towards the Tea Cups and the Alice ride so we could get pictures there with our costumes.
After riding the tea cups, we let the boys knock on the door of the White Rabbit's house.
Ok, so I have to say that as we walked down Main Street towards Fantasyland, I heard all sorts of people commenting on my little Tweedles and how cute they were. (Yeah, by the way, they were eating that up!) Then as they were knocking on the White Rabbit's door, a cast member came over to me and told me how cute they were and how she just loved their costumes. So, she gave us a Magic Moment for a free backdoor pass to any ride in the park. Ok, I happened to think I did a good job on their costumes considering my sewing skills at this point, but looking around at the elaborate costumes around us, I was shocked she picked them out to give a special pass...but awesome!
Anyhow, of course, Justin had to get a picture at the Mad Hatter's place.
And I found the sneaky Cheshire Cat.
We then headed to the Finding Nemo submarine attraction. This was one that we missed during our first day at Disneyland.
As Mickey's party officially got under way, we decided to get one more picture in front of the Mickey pumpkin. (I was afraid the first ones didn't turn out that well.)
There are two big bonuses to going to Mickey's Halloween Party other than getting to wear fun costumes. One, they limit the number of tickets, so once it was past 6pm, the crowd levels decreased greatly and rides that were usually 20-30 minute waits went down to 5-10 minutes. Second, they have trick-or-treat trails where at each of several locations there are about four candy stations. They also had the option for a healthy snack option. So, I had the boys get some of both (that provided the snacks for our plane rides the following day.)

We were surprised to find out there was a special meet and greet location for the villains just under the train station on Main Street. We quickly got in line when we saw that the Queen of Hearts was part of the meet and greet. But first, we met Cruella DeVil. She was actually really great at interacting. She asked Garytt which of the two was the dumber one. When he said that he was Tweedle Dee, she responded by saying that he was very smart to pass the dumb along.
Next we met a character from the new Adventures in Wonderland...but we have no idea who he was. Garytt was really impressed by his long fingers.
Finally, we were able to meet the Queen of Hearts! She was great at interacting despite being a non-talking character.
By that time, we were all getting a bit hungry. So, we went towards the New Orleans Square area to find some dinner and along the way we came upon another trick-or-treat trail...and Chip 'n Dale were there!
After dinner we headed to the Haunted Mansion. During Halloween and Christmas they change it from a normal haunted mansion to decorations with Jack Skeleton and other friends from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was worried the ride would be too scary. Really the scariest part is the elevator ride down. The rest was spooky in a happy way if that makes any sense. But Garytt will still tell you if you ask him today, "The skeleton's house was not my favorite."
We tried to head towards Main Street for the parade and noticed there were new villains to meet. So, we met the queen from Snow White. She was pretty funny, too. She mentioned that she noticed none of us dressed up as the Queen of Hearts...probably none of us could handle being a queen. I love how the villains interact but still have to stay "mean."
Then we met Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
The final villain this round was Jaffar from Alladin.
We had some time to ride a few rides before the parade would start. So, we rode Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters several times.
We also rode the train back to Fantasyland to ride the Tea Cups in the dark.
Pretty soon it was time to find our spot for the parade. Justin took some fun pictures of Main Street while we waited.

After the parade, we called it a night. I was really excited to see the fireworks show as we have heard that the Halloween fireworks are not to be missed. However, the weather was too bad and the cancelled the fireworks. Bummer! But we had a great time at Mickey's party and definitely hope to come back some time!
