Goofy's Kitchen

We had lunch reservations at Goofy's Kitchen, which is located in the Disneyland Hotel near Downtown Disney. So, we hopped on the Disneyland Monorail to go over to the Downtown Disney area.

There were Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto topiaries in the courtyard just outside Goofy's Kitchen.

We got a picture of the boys in front of the Goofy's Kitchen sign.  (I told Garytt to put his arm around Westyn but Westyn didn't like that, so Garytt put his had on his head, which Westyn didn't seem to mind.  Silly boys.)

Then, some nice people walked by and asked if we wanted to get in the photo with the boys.

Then it was time to head inside.

We were a little early and Goofy was visiting some tables, so the boys played in this car while we waited.

We didn't have to wait long before it was our turn to get a picture with Goofy! Goofy sat down to be closer to the kids and the photographer was stunned and didn't know what to do...they boys look stunned too.

So, Goofy got up and we got a group shot.

Westyn gave Goofy one last high five before we went to our table.

We were seated and I hurried to the buffet to get some food for some hungry boys.  Goofy's Kitchen is famous for it's PB&J pizza but neither boy seemed to really go for it.  But the Mickey waffles are always a favorite!

Pretty soon Dale came to the table.

Next Princess Jasmine visited our table. Of course, Prince Garytt bowed to the pretty princess.

It seemed like there was going to be a break in the character visits, so Justin headed to the buffet to get some food...but suddenly one of Cinderella's mice showed up. So, I improvised and set the boys down on the floor. She did a good job of working with me by kneeling down to their level. It's a pretty bad picture though.

Pretty soon Baloo the Bear came over. He literally wrapped Garytt up in a huge bear hug!

Goofy came by the table, too! I was impressed by this because at Disney World if you received a formal photo with a character at a dining place, that was the only time you saw them. So, it was a nice surprise to see Goofy again. He helped Westyn wipe his face...ha!

Pluto stopped by the table, too. Westyn was showing Pluto his muffin. Compliments to the chef!

We had a bit of a photo bomb with our group shot with Pluto...Dale!

I did get another one.

Little did we know that Pluto had arranged for a birthday cupcake for Justin. So, we all sang Happy Birthday to Justin while Pluto clapped along.

The boys were pretty impressed with that. And, of course, they were ready to help Dad eat his birthday cupcake.

Mulan came to the table to visit next. Although we have seen the movie several times, the boys seemed a little unsure about her at first.

When Chip came by the table Westyn gave his a huge chocolaty hug. I felt bad because he totally left chocolate all over his white apron. Chip didn't mind...instead he picked up his apron and wiped off the rest of his face.

It probably helped that we were one of the last families in there eating. We had an 11:30 reservation and the last possible reservation time was just before noon. So, they were not seating anymore people. It was a perfect time to eat there because the characters have to keep going around while there are people eating, but there are fewer tables to stop by, so we ended up seeing most of the characters several times. And most of them seemed to interact more than we saw at our character dining at Disney World. It was really a fun lunch!
