Garytt and Westyn's First KC Chiefs Game
Aunt Bec and Uncle Kyle requested several times throughout the football season if Garytt could join them for a game. Our schedules never worked out before. Then, they offered us a few extra tickets to the Dec. 23rd game, so all of us were able to go! (Of course, that is with the understanding that the boys wouldn't probably make it past half-time.)

Before we started walking to the stadium I took a quick group photo (minus me). And, yes, that is Westyn with us. And, yes, we are all bundled up because it was pretty chilly.

We made our way to the seats and got settled in. (Wow, look at how crowded the stands were!)

I'm pretty sure that as we were walking in, we received some strange looks and maybe even some wayward comments about bringing a baby to a football game in such chilly weather. And, honestly, I was really worried about Westyn. My back-up plan was for me to take him back to the car if it was just way too cold. Ironically, he was probably the warmest person there...look at how cozy he is sitting with Aunt Becca! (At some points, Westyn was so snuggled in with Bec that all we could see were his eyes!)

We found our seats, just as some of the pre-game things were occurring.

Garytt watched most of the game sitting next to me.

But he did go sit next to Uncle Kyle for a little while...I think Kyle was imparting his Chiefs knowledge onto Garytt.

After the demonstration from Kyle about how to properly yell for the Chiefs, Garytt got into the yelling, too! By the end of the first quarter, Garytt would yell, "Tackle," "First Down," and "Go Chiefs!"

Garytt was a really happy boy watching the game!

We decided to take a break from watching football, to go checkout the Chiefs museum area. It took us a while to walk around the stadium to get to the right area. Garytt didn't have any problem walking with Aunt Becca and Uncle Kyle.

I offered to carry Westyn, which started out just fine.

Then, he decided he would rather watch the ceiling by leaning back...way back! It was a challenge to walk with him like that but I was afraid if I adjusted anything, I would loose him...so I just held on tight!!

Once we made it to our destination, I was thrilled to let Justin hold Westyn for a bit and give my arms a break...of course, Westyn wasn't interested in the ceiling anymore by then.

Aunt Becca showed Garytt around the museum area.

Then, we headed to the Kid Zone, where they have some fun activities for kids.

The kid area had these tubes that were supposed to represent the digestive system. Then they had a bunch of red balls that represented food. The kids could put the balls in and watch them go through the tubes. This was Garytt's favorite area. Unfortunately, the balls were housed in a box that had really sharp corners. He fell into the edge of the box and scraped his chin. I swooped in as he started crying...only to find out, the injury didn't bother him, it was the fact that I took him away from the balls...what a tough kiddo. So, off he went to play some more.

By that time, it was close to half-time and the kid area was going to get too crowded. So, we bundled back up and headed out. The boys did a great job at the game and really enjoyed it! I'm glad we were able to go!
I think this shows how Garytt felt about the whole experience...amazed!

Thanks Bec and Kyle for a great time!
