Operation Christmas Child

The week before Thanksgiving was the national collection week for the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.  I have participated in Operation Christmas Child since I was introduced to the program in my college sorority.  I just love the idea of packaging up a little bit of Christmas cheer to send around the world while sharing the Christmas message.

This year we decided to have the boys help us!  Garytt enjoyed picking out all the items, but I think that might have been because he thought they were for him.

Then it was time to wrap the boxes, which I handled...although the boys were interested in the paper and tube.




Once the boxes were wrapped, Garytt did a great job of separating all the items into the three boxes. And it was a good exercise in sorting for him.

The boys and I delivered the boxes the next day. I think Garytt really enjoyed the process! This is always a great way to start the Christmas season!
