Treasure Island had really easy public parking for the beach. And the boys were definitely ready to get out of the car and go play in the sand!
Once we found a spot to set our things down, Garytt immediately took Westyn's hand and led him to the beach. Adorable!
Once he got down to the water, Westyn wasn't too sold on the whole beach thing.
So, he ended up hanging out in the sand near Grandma for a while.
Garytt and Justin played near the water.
Then, Garytt came up to play in the sand with Westyn for a bit.
After a bit, we decided to try to get Westyn to go back down by the water again. It took him awhile, but he eventually warmed up to the idea of sitting in the water.
Garytt's favorite activity was picking up sand in his shovel and throwing it back into the water.
I took a few videos of Garytt playing in the water. As you can see in the first video, Westyn is still clinging to Justin.
I have to say the boys created quite a stir on the beach. Many of the women around us commented about how cute they were and where did we get the matching swim sets for the boys and was it their first time at the beach, etc. In fact, one lady was nice enough to let my mom use her rental chair once she was ready to leave because she enjoyed watching the boys so much.
After a while, one of the other moms near us asked if we were from the area (I thought it was fairly obvious that we weren't) and said that she just got an alert on the phone that said a front was coming in that would increase the undertow and rip tides, so she encouraged us to watch the boys closely. I really appreciated the warning! We let the boys play a little while longer and we could see the clouds rolling in. So, we decided to head back to the condo and let the boys rest.
When we got back to the condo, we all go cleaned up to get all the sand off of us. Then Justin and Garytt decided to relax on the back porch.
That's the way to end a great day!
