Easter Egg Hunt

We traveled to my parents' house in Topeka for Easter this year. It was especially nice because my sister and her husband were able to come to Topeka as well and we hadn't seen them in a while.

Saturday morning, we decided to go to an Easter egg hunt in a small neighboring town called Auburn. Garytt was ready to go!

  Westyn really didn't know what was going on but he was excited about his Easter bucket!

  I was really glad we chose to go to this location because it was a pretty small group of kids. And we were able to walk right up and talk to the Easter Bunny.

  After we visited with the Easter Bunny, we waited for the egg hunt to start. Westyn was happy to just walk around carrying his bucket.

  Finally, it was time to go take our position near the eggs. They had all the kids stand outside the egg hunt boundaries until everyone was in place. Here we are scoping out the eggs.

  Ready, Set, Go!

  As you can see from the video, Garytt didn't hesistate when it was time to go!

  Westyn got the hang of it after a few minutes, too!

  It didn't take long for the kids to clear out all the eggs. The boys were pretty proud of what they collected.

  It was time to head back to the front of the field where the kids had to empty and return the eggs.

  Uncle Kyle helped Garytt find his way off the field while Aunt Becca walked with Westyn.

  The Easter Bunny was waiting for the kids to come off the field with a basket full of candy. Garytt didn't hesitate to go get his bonus piece of candy.

  Westyn needed a little assistance but he didn't seem too scared of the Easter Bunny....confused maybe.

  As we headed back to the car, Garytt found the bleachers and used them as a balance beam...he even has his hands out to the side like he would at the gym.

  Justin noticed that the WIBW news crew was there, since he took a picture of the new car. What we didn't know, is that the boys made the video clip. Check out this link to the WIBW webpage and the video.
