Christmas Day 2012
We woke up early Christmas morning (ok, the boys always wake up early, so that was no different than normal). I went downstairs to get breakfast started and to take a few pictures of Santa's gifts before the boys came downstairs.

Then it was time for the boys to come down and see what Santa brought. Garytt was the first around the corner...of course! But Westyn was right behind him. They both headed straight for the cars and the car ramp.

Here is a video of the boys. I guess they were stunned because they were pretty quiet.
Westyn tried out the new chair with the help of Dad.

Then Westyn discovered that Santa left a few cookie crumbs on the plate!

He even offered a crumb to his big brother.

After he finished eating all the crumbs, we decided they could check out their stockings. Both boys had a few small toys and an orange in their stockings (remember Garytt specifically asked Santa for oranges).

Garytt was so excited about his orange that he bit into it before it was pealed...obviously, that wasn't such a great plan. (It's kind of hard to see but this picture shows his teeth marks in the orange peel.)

After stockings, we took a little break to have some breakfast before heading downstairs to the rec room where we had the rest of the presents.

Growing up, my parents always used a secret code on the presents. On Christmas day we would have to crack the code to figure out which presents went to which person. We plan to carry on this tradition. This year the code was pretty straight forward...Garytt had to recognize the letter on the back of the packages...G or WD.

The boys enjoyed opening the rest of their gifts.

One of Garytt's favorite gifts was from my Cousin Lelia and Phil. He received a really neat take-a-long chalk board mat. He loves to draw on it and we have already used it while waiting at the DMV and it entertained him the whole time! I have never seen anything like it...such a great idea! He tried it out on Christmas and was so proud of his work he had to take a bow!

After all that excitement, it was time to let the boys play with the new toys and then have some rest. What a great Christmas!
