The Last Gym Class

Yesterday morning, Garytt attended his last class at The Little Gym. Of course, they have another semester starting next week but we will be taking a break from The Little Gym for a while due to baby #2 arriving soon. We may return to classes after we get into a routine with the new one but we'll have to wait and see.

Class was less structured than normal since it was the last class of the semester. We did start the class by ringing the bells and singing, as always.

Then the instructor brought out the bouncy track right away. This is an activity that all the kids really like and they only use it a few times during the semester. It is a lot of fun for everyone but it is a bit chaotic with kids bouncing everywhere.

Waiting for the bouncy track to inflate.

Climbing on the track

Getting ready to go over the obstacle

They allowed the kids to spend quite a bit of time on the bouncy track. So, I was also able to get a few videos.

Then it was time to let the air out of the track. The kids are supposed to sit or lay down while the track deflates. Here is a video of Garytt going on the "ride."

Then it was off to have our exploration time, which means they can pretty much roam around and do whatever they want.

Of course, Garytt wanted to swing from the bar again.

Getting ready to swing

Landing on his bottom

Landing on his feet...much better!

Then he decided that the wedge mat was really fun to just run up and down...he spent a lot of time doing this, which just doesn't seem like it should be that much fun...but what do I know?

And down

Then he decided to climb through the fun donut mat.

Garytt decided to go to the other side of the gym and noticed that they had the rock wall up. He has only seen the rock wall one other time during the semster and he loved it! So, as soon as he spotted it, he was totally ready to go climb! He is really brave about the whole thing...maybe too brave for my taste...I have to remember he is a boy! However, I didn't get any pictures of him coming down because he needs a little help to swing his legs over the very top to slide down the other side.

After exploration time, the instructor got out the parachute...another favorite activity for the kids.

Watching from underneath

Pointing at the fun colors

At the end of the parachute time, the kids are allowed to sit in the middle while the parents walk in a circle and take them for a ride.

Then it was time for bubbles, which means class is basically over.

We have really enjoyed attending this class once a week and I have seen Garytt grow in many ways. I do hope that once we are in a good routine with the baby, that we can register for classes again!
