After that, we headed to new science center called The Thinkery in Austin. On the way, Westyn said it was just so hot. Then he suddenly stopped complaining. We turned around to see that he apparently figured out how to cool off in the Texas winter.

The Thinkery is a much smaller science center than some of the others we went to, which was good because we didn't really allow for too much time here. One thing that we had not seen at other science centers (and you know we have been to a lot) was a wax machine. The machine melted the wax and the kids could use a joystick and buttons to control the flow and shape of the wax. Then the conveyor belt moved and the wax cooled. You could pick up your creation at the end. Garytt was proud of his wax person. Sadly right after this final picture, a punk came running by and snapped it in two.

Apparently The Thinkery was so tiring Garytt couldn't walk to the car.

December 31st was our travel day. But our flight wasn't until later, so the kids wanted to go back to the Witte museum.

We decided to add the exhibit that cost extra beyond our free pass this time. While it was interesting, I wouldn't really recommend it. The free part was more entertaining.

Good-bye Texas...it was a great trip!
