We hadn't heard anything from my sister on Saturday morning. So, I suggested we go see my grandma as an early birthday surprise. Her birthday is July 15, but I had a feeling we wouldn't be able to get there to see her that day. So, we packed the boys up for an afternoon in Leavenworth.
We stopped in Kansas City and had lunch at Chick-Fil-A first and let the boys run out some energy. Then we made our way to Leavenworth. Garytt wanted to carry the flowers in.
Unfortunately, she wasn't home. So, we left the cupcakes, the flowers, and a note and decided to run two houses down to my Great Aunt I-Yop's house. She wasn't home either. Bummer!
We started packing the boys back in the car when uncle pulled up with my grandma. After some brief unpleasantries with my uncle, we were left alone visit with Great Grandma Mary. The boys were eager to go back inside...probably because they knew we left those cupcakes in there!
Garytt delivered a cupcake to the birthday girl.
Then we got a quick group photo before the boys wound up with frosting all over their faces.
They were quick to dig into those cupcakes!
Garytt was fascinated with the red frosting.
We had a nice visit and I think she enjoyed seeing the boys, even though they were into everything. (It's hard to keep up with them in a house that is totally not baby proof!)
Happy Birthday Great Grandma Mary!
