I made the pans of jello ahead of time. The boys were eager to cut out the "jewels."
Then it was time to add the filling.
We put our jewel cake in the fridge while the boys went to have their "quiet time." Of course, the first thing they asked for when they woke up was the jewel cake.
I do have to admit, I really enjoy this jello jewel cake!
Justin also makes a more traditional New Year's Day meal consisting of black-eyed peas and cabbage.
The boys and I aren't too big on eating it though. Hopefully Justin eats enough for all of us to have good luck in the new year!
