Santa

On Saturday, November 23, we drove to Kansas City to visit Santa at the studio where our cousin Robbie works. We have done this every year since Garytt was born, except the year we were in Wisconsin. I really like having a relaxed waiting environmet with snacks and toys and great photos with Santa.
 

And, as usual, it became a miniature family reunion. Debbi arrived with Addison and Isaac along with Sharon and Casandra. Unforutately, Addison wasn't feeling that great so she wasn't up to playing like she usually is. Then Mike, Julie, and Gavin arrived. The boys were eager to play with Gavin.


Soon it was our turn to visit with Santa. We started with the boys together.


Then we tried to get Westyn and Santa together. Westyn completely freaked out.  (This didn't totally surprise me because this was the same age that Garytt was terrified of Santa.) 


So, we "rescued" Westyn and let Garytt have a turn with Santa by himself.


Then, Santa offered Garytt a candy cane and Garytt whispered to Santa his wishes. (Santa told us his just told him he wants a present...that should be a pretty easy request.)


When Westyn saw Garytt get a candy cane, he wanted one as well. And we saw an opportunity to get a picture of Westyn and Santa without Westyn crying.


After our visit with Santa, we went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A with Addison and Isaac and their family. We got their first and ordered because the boys were starving and restless. There was a birthday party going on and the Chick-Fil-A cow (who I'm sure has a name) was there and stopped by our table.


The boys enjoyed some play time after lunch, which is particularly important when we had a two hour drive to get home.

  Of course, they had some ice cream before we left.


I think the boys enjoyed their Santa outting.
