Christmas Tree Adventure

This year Justin suggested that we take the boys out to a tree farm and cut down a Christmas tree. So, we decided to go out the day after Thanksgiving while Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Becca, Uncle Kyle, and Cousin Jacob were still in town. So, we all headed out to Timber View Tree Farm Friday morning.

It wasn't long before the trailer came by to take us out to the area where we could pick our tree.

It was a bumpy ride but soon we were there and off we went to find our Christmas tree.

Garytt was ready to find the perfect tree...saw in hand.

Westyn really liked the row of trees that were closer to his height.

Garytt picked out the tree. Then he surprisingly didn't want to participate in actually cutting it down. I guess he was more of the supervisor.

Westyn, on the other hand, couldn't wait to get in on the action.

The boys helped carry the tree once it was cut down.

Ok, actually the tree farm had guys out there to help you carry the trees, so that was purely a photo op.

They took the tree over to where the trailer would pick us up. They also shook the trees to remove all the needles while we waited. The boys loved watching that!

Don't the boys look excited to take a family photo while we wait for our ride?

Our ride arrived and we loaded up for another bumpy ride.

Once we got back to the main lodge, we went inside to warm up for a bit and get some hot chocolate.

Once we were warmed up, we took a few photos outside.

Bec, Kyle, and Jacob liked the Charlie Brown trees. Jake is such a cutie pie!

Then Grandma and Grandpa took pictures with all the boys.

One final group shot and it was time for this crazy group to go get some lunch.

We had fun going out to pick out our tree and it was even more fun with such a big group. I think we may have a new family tradition.

I wanted to put the tree out on our porch (because I'm not big on real trees inside my house). Unfortunately, the tree fell over one day and has spent a good portion of the Christmas season on its side. We will have to improve on our tie downs next year!
