A Scooby Party

On Saturday, February 23, we drove to Topeka to celebrate with a good family friend as her daughter turned 4. The party theme was Scooby Doo. Sadly, there were issues with the mail and we didn't receive our invitation, so I didn't know that was the party theme...or else, Garytt would have totally been dressed in his Scooby shirt!

The party was held at a pet shop in Topeka. I have to say, I didn't even know you could have parties at pet stores...but it's a totally cute idea for a Scooby party!

They had a little art project for the kids to do when they came in. Garytt was very excited to make his Scooby picture.

They also had a table set up with crayons and paper for the kids to draw, which Westyn was excited about.

Olivia, the birthday girl, is also enjoying the crayons.

Once all the kids had a chance to make their Scooby pictures, it was time to eat. Again, the presentation was so cute! They had all the sides in various dog bowls.

After everyone had a chance to eat, the pet store brought out several dogs for the kids to pet. The kids had to sit in a line on the floor and take turns. Garytt wasn't so sure how to hold the first puppy.

When the second puppy came out, he realized that it was easier to hold a puppy if he was sitting all the way down.

Even Westyn got to see the second puppy...but he doesn't look to sure about it.

In between the second and third dogs, Garytt was able to pick out a Scooby tatoo. He was pretty excited about that. In fact, he was more excited about the tatoo than the third dog that came out.

When the last dog was taken back to his home, it was time for some cake! Guess who managed to be first in line for cake!

After cake, they had a Scooby pinata that was opened with strings instead of a stick.

Garytt missed the string pulling, but he did get out there to pick up some candy.

The goody bags were also the candy bags. I thought it was very cute with each of their names on it in a dog bone. Here's Garytt-Doo and Westyn-Doo's bags.

Then Justin got the great idea to make the pinata into a hat.

Even Olivia's grandma got to wear the Scooby hat.

We had a really great time at the party! The boys were totaly worn out at ready for a nap after all the fun! Happy 4th Birthday Olivia! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you!
