Justin designed the birthday invitation.
All I had to do was bring some balloons, the cake, and the party favors. I let Garytt pick out the cake from Sam's Club. Of course, he wanted the cake with the cupcakes...so it was A LOT of cake, but he loved it!
I took a few pictures of Garytt with his cake before all of his friends started to arrive.
Pretty soon his friends started to arrive and the party started. He got to wear a black belt for the day!
Then they practiced some hitting and punching.
After learning some basic skills, it was time for the obstacle course. The kids sat on the wall until it was their turn.
Next, they all got to play with the balloons. They were supposed to keep it from hitting the floor. At first it was basic and then they turned on the giant fans, which made it quite challenging. (And if you notice, at this point they all earned their ninja headband.)
Then they all lined up to try to bump their balloon front one end of the mat to the other. Then they were to sit on the balloons and pop them.
It was harder than expected to pop those balloons. So, the leader helped by kicking the balloons while the kids were sitting on them.
The next activity was a tug of war. They split into teams at first. Then it ended up being Garytt and the leader vs. all the rest of the kids.
Then all the kids lined up to watch the leader show them how to do a jump and a kick (I have no idea the technical name). You can tell from some of the expressions that they are excited about it!
Then it was their turn.
Finally it was time to sing and cut the cake. He even got to use a real Ninja sword to do it!
Yummy!
Present time what chaotic. I still haven't learned the art of having an excited kid open presents in an orderly fashion.
There was time at the end for one last game...dodge ball...no teams...just every man for himself!
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Garytt's 5th birthday! It was a blast!
