It wasn't too hard to convince them to head to our next adventure. We decided to stay out in the Chicago suburbs and go to a children's museum in Aurora, IL called Sci-Tech.
While the boys did enjoy this museum, it had a lot more experiments that were geared towards older kids who had some background in science and technology. But there were still plenty of things to keep them busy, even if they didn't understand the principles.
One exhibit that was pretty unique was a sand table that had a projection on it where you could move the sand around and make a topographical map. So, you could create mountains or lakes and such. Justin and Garytt spent a good amount of time there.
We took a break to enjoy our packed lunch.
And then we explore the exhibits in the basement...
Including the novelty of a corded phone.
We headed back upstairs to explore the tornado demonstration.
And there was just enough time for me to ride the bike to turn on the light bulbs.
Pretty soon it was time to head back to the condo for an afternoon break.
We decided to take it easy that afternoon and enjoy the indoor pool. Garytt was pretty excited!
We swam around with the boys for a bit. Then Garytt noticed some kids jumping into the pool from the side. He wanted to do it but was a bit nervous. He did jump in though! Then Westyn wanted to do it. Man, that kid is fearless! He jumped in with no hesitation at all! After a few jumps for each boy, I hopped out of the pool to take a few pictures and a video of the fun.
The boys really didn't want to leave the swimming pool. In fact, it was a huge breakdown for Garytt. But once we were back at the condo, the boys had fun playing games while I fixed some dinner.
It was really nice to have a fun activity planned and then some down time!
