Westyn's First Haircut

As you may have noticed in the past few blog posts, Westyn was in desperate need for a haircut! I had previously had to trim his bangs a few times just to allow him to see, but I like to wait for the first haircut to be done right around age one. So, Saturday, January 19 (about a week before his birthday), we took him to get his official first haircut.

We took a quick photo before the process started...yeah, he really needs a haircut!

  The stylist really wanted to try to let Westyn sit on the chair by himself. He was pretty happy at first.

  Then, he started to get a little more unsure about the whole thing.

  He was finally so wiggly and unhappy, that I sat down in the chair to hold him. He was still a little unsure but I was able to get him to cooperate a little bit better this way.

  All done!

  In case you were wondering, Garytt spent the whole time playing with the toys in the waiting area. It worked out perfectly because he was totally engrossed in what he was doing, so Justin could focus on taking pictures.

  Westyn looks so much older now that he has his haircut. I think that's one reason I like to wait until they are close to a year old before getting their haircut...it's kind of a transition from baby to toddler.
