Sesame Street Live!

A few months ago I heard that Sesame Street Live was coming to Kansas City. I thought about getting tickets at that time but it was in the middle of Christmas and planning for Westyn's big birthday party. So, I didn't look in to it any further.

Then, a few days before the performance, I received an email that had a discount code for Sesame Street Live...you know how I love a good discount. :) So, we made a last minute decision to go see the show. We even were able to coordinate so that my mom could join us! So, Sunday, January 20, we got the boys all dressed in their Sesame Street best and headed to Kansas City.

For Christmas, I gave Justin a coupon pack called Foodie KC. It has a ton of $10 off coupons to a variety of Kansas City restaurants. So, he found a participating restaurant that was right across the street from the Sprint Center. My mom met us there for lunch and brought Garytt an Elmo surprise. He sure does love hats!

After lunch, we walked across the street to go see Elmo and the gang! Sesame Street Live has a play area set up prior to the show. So, we walked down there to see what was going on.

There were a lot of photo op spots in the area. And we took advantage of getting a family picture on the steps of 123 Sesame Street.

Right after that, we saw the Sesame Street gang come out to sing some songs on the mini stages in the play zone. So, we went over to check that out! Garytt was able to get a better view in Justin's arms.

After the characters left the stage, we allowed the boys to check out the rest of the play zone. There were lots of wooden cutout figures of the characters that had buttons the kids could push and have the characters talk. We tried to get to as many as we could before it was time for the show.

By then it was time for bathroom breaks before the show. We snapped a few pictures before we headed in to see the show.

Finally, everyone was ready to go find out seats and we got settled in. Both Garytt and Westyn were excited about the Sprint Center lights and were very entertained by looking around before the show started.

Westyn enjoyed the pre-show atmosphere so much that he couldn't stop bouncing around!

He actually bounced like that through much of the performance as well. He really enjoyed this adventure. He was so entertaining that even people around us were commenting about him.

Finally, it was show time!

Both Garytt and Westyn watched the show intently. (Westyn did take a short nap in the middle.)

The boys had such a great time at the show! I'm so glad we decided to go!
