Westyn's 1st Birthday Party
We celebrated Westyn's 1st Birthday on Saturday, January 26, just one day before his actual birthday.
The principal at the school my mom works at was nice enough to let us use the school gym for the party. So that morning, my mom and I went over to set up the tables and decorations.
Finally, the setup was complete and it was time for the guests to arrive...including the guest of honor. Here's Westyn as he first walked in to the party.

He headed straight for the Mickey Mouse toilet paper bowling.

Garytt was pretty amazed at the party room as well!

He was especially impressed with the balloons that were connected to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse bubbles!

I was able to get a quick picture with the birthday boy.

Then it took no time at all for the kids to go check out all the fun toys on the stage area of the gym.

We opened up the food buffet shortly after that. The menu included Goofy's Hot Diggity Dogs, Clubhouse Pinwheels, Pete's Peppers and other Veggies, Toodles' Rainbow Fruit, Minnie's Bow Tie Pasta, Clarabelle's Moo Muffins, Mickey's Magic Wands, Professor Von Drake's Jello Experiment, Donald's Cheese and "Quackers," Pluto's Puppy Chow, and Daisy's Drink Station. I was surprised the kids were so willing to take a break from all the gym equipment to get some food.

By then, most of the kids had on their party hats.

Hannah, however, was not so sold on the idea of putting on her hat.

Westyn took a little cruise around to say hi to everyone.

After lunch, the real fun began in the gym. Of course, some of the kids were still interested in playing with the balls.

But then my mom suggested getting out the scooters. Oh boy! The kids had a great time being pushed around on those!

We even took a few short videos of the fun.
We took a break from all the fun to have some cake! We got the birthday boy settled in...but he wasn't happy at first.

That was until he saw food! It was time for Westyn to dig into his cake...after Garytt helped him blow out the candle.

I think he enjoyed it! He's a video of him eating the last bit of his cake.
Of course, after all that messy cake, Westyn needed to change clothes. Then the scooter fun resumed...this time Westyn got in on the action.

And here's a video of his ride.
Meanwhile, Garytt and Olivia were playing with the toilet paper bowling...only it was more like just stacking and knocking it over.

Finally, it was time to open some presents.

For his last present, we had a little helper. I think Addison must have known this was going to be a gift that she would like to borrow.

It was a cute little Mickey push or ride airplane. Addison helped Westyn ride it...so cute!

Then it was Addison's turn to ride and Garytt is "helping." I think he is really plotting how to take it.

By then, most of the other kids had noticed it as well.

Meanwhile, this was the final picture of all Westyn's loot.

While the other kids played with the Mickey airplane, Westyn was walking around with the alligator walker he received.

The kids continued to play for a while in the gym. Westyn found a fun squeezy ball.

Addison found an opportunity to take all the Mickey and friends that were on the cake table to a secret hangout...under the table...so funny!

Hannah loved the rubber chickens...also too funny!

Samuel took a little ride on his dad's shoulders.

Garytt and Hannah both tried a different style of scooter.

After a while, it was obviously time for the kids to take a nap. So, the party started to wind down. My mom and I took a quick picture with the birthday boy.

Then Justin took Westyn so I could pack up a few things to send the boys home. It only took a few seconds before Westyn looked like this...

That's one tired boy after such a fun party!

Thanks to everyone who helped make Westyn's birthday such a special event! Thanks to my mom for making his fun Fantasia style birthday hat. And thanks to Justin for putting together the birthday art on the cake table. We hope everyone had a great time!
