Happy 6th Brithday Garytt

Garytt's birthday weekend happened to fall on Easter weekend in 2016. So, he had a few extra days off school before and after Easter. We decided to go to Silver Dollar City for the long weekend and Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Becca, Uncle Kyle, Jacob and Levi were able to come too!

We started the morning off early on March 25 at a donut shop. (Afterall it is a birthday tradition in our house to get to go have donuts with Dad on your birthday morning.)


He received a birthday phone call from Mimi while we were driving down to Branson.


All the groups were just planning to head straight to the Silver Dollar City parking lot and meeting up at the front gate. We actually all did pull in around the same time but were all parked in different lots because lots were closing as we were pulling up. So, we parked and hopped on a tram.


We waited out front until the whole group made it there.


The cousins were pretty happy to see each other!


While Grandma went to ask some questions about the military tickets, we had three little map helpers planning our strategy.


Once we got the tickets sorted out, it was time to hit the rides. We started on the mini-coaster because the height check station is right by there. Unfortunately, the mini-coaster is a slow loading and unloading ride, so we had a bit of a wait. But we practiced our coaster riding from the sidelines.


Time to ride!


After the mini-coaster, we took a quick spin on the swings that are just across the way.


Then, Justin took Garytt to ride some bigger rides.


Meanwhile, we took Westyn, Jacob, and Levi to the toddler section.


They found entertainment by checking things out through the cutouts in the fencing.


The little kids really enjoyed these smaller rides...and Westyn was tall enough to ride most of them by himself, so he thought he was pretty big stuff.


We met back up for some rides.


Then I took Garytt to ride Thunderation while Justin took Westyn around.


We took some pictures of the birthday boy in the birthday picture frame before we left the park for the night.


The plan had been to go back to the condos and have cake and presents afterwards but Garytt was complaining he wasn't feeling well. And he pretty much fell asleep as soon as we made it to the condos and didn't even eat dinner. We were worried he wouldn't be up for day two of Silver Dollar City but as it turned out he was fine by morning! Yay!
