Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to go to the Memorial Day weekend air show out at the Columbia Regional Airport on Saturday morning. It was going to be a rainy weekend but, according to the weather, Saturday morning was going to be our best shot at staying dry but the clouds didn't look promising. The boys enjoyed their wagon ride and seeing some of the airplanes parked on the tarmac.


We found a spot to watch the airshow and the paratroopers were the first demonstration.


Pretty much right as that demonstration ended, it started to rain a bit. It wasn't too bad at first and they did let the first airplane take off but all he did was fly by a few times.


It did start to rain a little harder and we still thought we could wait it out. The boys enjoyed playing in the rain while we waited.


As it rained even harder, we all huddled under the umbrella. The boys were pretty chilly by this time.


The announcer then said that the storm was about 20 miles wide, so it would be a little while before they could resume and we decided to call it a day. Sadly we didn't get to see as much as we hoped, but the boys were chilly and quickly getting bored. Maybe next year will be better.

 On Memorial Day, we attended the Memorial Day Parade. The weather was much nicer!


We enjoyed our Memorial Day weekend despite it being pretty rainy.
