End of School Activities 2016

May was full of end of year activities for both the boys in school.

I was a field trip chaperone for Garytt's kindergarten class field trip to the Lincoln Zoo on May 4, 2016. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time...and I didn't have a heart attack or lose anyone!

After the zoo, we all went just across the street to a park for lunch and some play time. (This is where I nearly had a heart attack trying to keep track of 5 kids in a pretty sizable public park.)

My small group of kids.

Garytt's kindergarten class (yes, that's a lot of kids for one class!)

By the time Mrs. Philbrick jumped in the picture, most of the kids were pretty done with taking photos.

I was able to participate in the Martyrs Walk with Jesus activity with Westyn's preschool class on May 12. We just walked the perimeter of the school grounds but with all those little 3-4 year olds, extra parents were a good idea! When we got to the school sign, they were supposed to identify any letters in their name and trace the letters with their fingers.

Then it was time for a group photo.

Then we let them run off some energy in the field.

The next day, May 13, Westyn's Lutheran preschool had a field trip to the flower shop. Each small group was assigned a color to shop for. Our group was purple.

We took a group photo once we got back to the school with all their flowers.

Then it was time to help plant. Each child planted one flower. The idea being at the end we would end up with a rainbow garden because we were all assigned different colors. Very cute idea! Sadly I never got a picture of the final flower garden.

I am so blessed to be able to participate in all the special days at school! (And, at least for now, both boys are happy to have me tag along!)
