Geometry: Preschool Style

One of the preschool activities that Garytt and I did last week was based on making shapes using marshmallows and toothpicks.  I found this idea on one of the blogs that I follow.  And Garytt really loved it!  I pulled out his shapes puzzle to help him visualize the shapes before making them.  Some of the angles were harder than others, so I helped him along the way.  But he concentrated the whole time!

Garytt couldn't wait to show Justin all the cool shapes he made when Justin got home from work!

This was a really easy and quick lesson that uses items that I usually have in the house. I'm sure we'll use this idea again! And the best part is that Garytt was allowed to eat the few marshmallows left in the bowl when we were finished with all of our shapes!
