The boys were excited to see the presents at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Of course, nothing could be opened until Aunt Becca, Uncle Kyle and Cousin Jacob arrived. So, the boys settled on watching the train in the Christmas tree for a bit.
It was pretty late when we arrived so the boys headed to bed.
The next day, we hung out playing the old version of Mouse Trap from my childhood as well as some toy trucks until the Polok group arrived.
Grandpa got to enjoy breakfast with all the boys the following day.
And it was finally time to celebrate Christmas!
Santa made a little extra stop at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the boys. He brought snow shovels, shoes, cameras, and, of course, shooters!
They also had some goodies in their stockings, including Veggie Tale CDs that incorporate their name in the songs. These CDs are now favorites for them to listen to while they are in the van. They LOVE hearing their names in the songs!
They also received head lamps in their stockings, which were a huge hit.
They decided they could be Cyclops with the head lamps...I think my favorite part is Grandma's reaction.
Of course before we started opening up the other packages, we had to get a picture of all the boys together. (Yes, it is a bit forced...ha!)
It was time to open some other presents.
The boys gave Jacob some Dusty slippers for Christmas. He was so adorable with them and wanted to wear them over his footie pajamas.
Grandma and Grandpa had a very special gift for each of the boys...they received authentic Irish drums from the trip they took over the summer.
Then Grandpa got out his larger drum and showed the boys how to play them.
After a while we had to put the drums away. Then it was time to test out the new "shooters," as the boys like to call them. It turned into quite the little war game. Uncle Kyle even ended up building a fort.
Jacob wasn't so much interested in shooting but he liked being in the middle of the field where the balls were whizzing by. He laughed and laughed during the game.
He did eventually join his dad in the fort.
It was a super fun battle and everyone had a great time playing and watching! But, eventually, we called a truce.
After quiet time, Garytt tested out his new camera. He loved taking pictures of Jacob.
And apparently pictures of himself...very, very close up.
We all had a wonderful day celebrating Christmas in Topeka!
